Dorizon, é um centro paroquial . A colonização de Dorizon data de 1891, época em que chegaram nossos primeiros emigrantes. No início foi construída uma igreja na Serra do Tigre, onde a comunidade apoiada pelo Monsenhor Padre Nikon Rozdolschki em honra ao Arcanjo Miguel. O padre Nikon organizou o povo, além de ações pastorais, providenciou uma escola e Maestrava um coral, é o que relatavam os mais antigos moradores. Em 1907 o então ainda moço Pe. Nikon, adoeceu vitimado por uma hepatite e faleceu. Seus restos mortais foram sepultados no cemitério que fica nos fundos da igreja.
Após a morte do Pe. Nikon, os Padres Basilanos começaram a trabalhar na Serra do Tigre. Inicialmente o Pe. Cirílo Semkiv. Depois o pe. Paulo Petrechkei.
Com a construção da ferrovia de São Paulo ao Rio Grande do Sul, em 1910 foi a Estação ferroviária de Dorizon. Com isso aqui começou aumentar o número de moradores, comércios etc. Essas pessoas ansiavam por um atendimento espiritual mais espeífico para região. Por isso os Eminentes padres Omelian Ananevicz e Pedro Protzki, começaram a pensar em um maior atendimento a Dorizon. Iniciaram as visitas para cá adquiriram um pequeno terreno e prepararam para construção de uma pequena capela. Antes as missas e celebrações eram realizadas na propriedade do sr. Benedito Pihurskei. Conseguiram construir a capela com ajuda de todos. Mais tarde decidiram criar uma escolinha para educação religiosas dos filhos dos camponeses.
Em 1922 O Metropolita Andrei Chkepitzkei inaugurou a pedra fundamental do inicio da construção.
Primeira igreja, depois a escola das Irmãs Servas de Maria Imaculada, finalmente uma igreja maior. Paróquia São José. Muito bem construída com belas pinturas internas e externas. O seu construtor trazido da Ucrânia. Ivan Denichenko.
